Flader cut / tangential cut

There are different ways to cut the wood. Depending on which woodcut is used, the wood image differs.

Grain during flat cut

The Flaring is a characteristic pattern the Grain . It is revealed using a certain cutting technique for wood. The wood flake is also called a flower and it runs in curves, which look similar to parabolas. The grain is much more heterogeneous with the tangential cut, i.e. flap cut, than with the Radial section

The cutting direction for the Flader cut

When cutting the tree trunk parallel to the longitudinal axis sawn, one also speaks of Tangential cut. This sawing technique makes the... Annual rings visible as flakes, in the Parabolic shape shape the appearance of the wood. The Flader cut creates one very lively and exciting grain.
